Celtic Player Ratings Vs Rangers: Ntcham Shines, Boyata Flops

moussa dembele

The clash against Rangers and Celtic at the Ibrox Stadium earlier today certainly lived up to the expectations. There was a lot at stake as the two giants of Scottish football locked horns. Deservedly, Brendan Rodgers’ men had the last laugh after a gruesome battle between both the clubs.

Josh Windass gave the hosts an early lead, which was soon cancelled by Tom Rogic. Daniel Candeias and Moussa Dembele scored for Rangers and Celtic, respectively, in the first-half and the two sides were tied 2-2 at the half-time. However, Odsonne Edouard came on for Forrest in the second-half and scored in what proved to be the winning goal.

Here are our Celtic player ratings from their win in the Old Firm Derby.

Scott Bain 6/10

The custodian was unlucky to concede so early in the game. Frankly speaking, he couldn’t have done much to deny Windass or Candeias from finding the back of the net. Otherwise, he looked pretty sharp.

Kristoffer Ajer 6/10

Ajer dazzled against the Gers and showcased good resilience.

Jozo Simunovic 4/10

The defender looked stuttering at times and it was silly from Simunovic to elbow Alfredo Morelos which handed him a red card.

Dedryck Boyata 3/10

Arguably the worst player for the Hoops, Boyata’s error handed Rangers their first goal. He lacked composure on the ball. A pretty nervy game and he needs to improve in the coming weeks.

Kieran Tierney 6/10

The Scottish international galloped forward time and again and played a key role in stretching the Rangers defence. He also tracked back timely.

Olivier Ntcham 7/10

Ntcham’s wide range of passes and tenacity in the middle of the park made him the engine room for his side. He was impressive, only his finishing letting him down.

Scott Brown 6/10

The midfielder took a lot of time to settle but was involved in quite a few physical battles on the pitch.

James Forrest 5/10

Forrest was frustrated by Rangers’ defence and despite his efforts, he couldn’t breach muster the end product.

Tom Rogic 8/10

The Australian international was given space and he made the most of it. He found the back of the net to level the scores and was unfortunate to be taken off after Simunovic’s red card.

Callum McGregor 6/10

Poor in terms of his end product.

Moussa Dembele 7/10

His pace was exemplary and he might have failed to make his presence felt in the first-half but came back strongly after the break and scored an important goal.

Substitutions

Jack Hendry 6/10

Hendry looked nervous after coming on for Rogic but eventually helped Celtic is seeing off the game.

Odsonne Edouard 7/10

The Frenchman came on for Forrest in the second-half and brought some freshness up front. Besides, he scored the winning goal and really impressed during his time on the pitch.

Stuart Armstrong NA

Armstrong came with less than 5 minutes left to play, which is too less to make an impact.

The fashion designer said in a new interview with The Times that Viagra generic viagra has happened to women in the last 15 years.
