Barcelona Star Open To A Move This Summer: Should Arsenal Pounce? 1

Following his record-breaking move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, FC Barcelona wonderkid Ousmane Dembele has found it difficult to get his feet sorted out in the Spanish top flight.

Since his €135m move, the Frenchman has constantly struggled with injuries, having played only 275 minutes of league football this season. His injury issues have also left Barcelona frustrated and as per reports, the Catalans are reportedly eyeing a move for Antoine Griezmann in the summer. Griezmann, who is highly expected to leave Atletico this summer, is also keen moving to Camp Nou, as it seems.

As for Ousmane Dembele, however, the addition of Antoine Griezmann will drag him down the pecking order at Barcelona next season and according to reports from Don Balon, the Frenchman is apparently open to a move in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Arsenal showing keen interest.

The Gunners are actively in search of a prolific winger in the transfer market, following the departure of star man Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, earlier this year. They have also sold their prized attacking asset in Theo Walcott, meaning the North-London giants could be in for some serious business this summer.

And the addition of Ousmane Dembele will certainly be a step in the right direction for an Arsenal side who, in the past, have shown very little ambition in the transfer market.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded as one of the best young players in world football, largely thanks to his unreal debut season in the Bundesliga back in 2016/17 season. The Frenchman notched up 10 goals and provided 22 assists in his first season with Dortmund, which eventually earned him a big money move to Barcelona last summer.

Highly known for his incredible ability on the ball, Dembele is a dynamo who is often compared to Cristiano Ronaldo. His direct style of play enables him to keep the opposing defenders occupied all the time, while his sensational dribbling qualities give him an edge over his opponent. However, it’s his amazing balance, which makes him a unique component in the final third. His lightning quick turns and neat drop of the shoulders can bamboozle any defender in the world.

That being said, however, it seems very unlikely that Barcelona will let go of their prized asset so quickly. Despite his struggles in performing for Barcelona this season, the French International still boasts a world of potential and can prove to be a huge asset for the Catalans in the coming years.

Therefore, the Gunners should drag their attention to more realistic options, who are currently available in the market this summer, such as Malcom or Julian Brandt.
