Arsenal Keen On Signing PSG Starlet 1

A team known for their swiftness in passing and team goals, now lack creativity and cohesiveness as they find themselves down the pecking order. The Gunners midfield now looks extremely dull and paltry evident in their recent downfall.

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on PSG U-19 youngster Yacine Adli, a centre midfielder putting in some good performances in the UEFA Youth League.

Will Arsenal Aid To His Development?

The quality of the UEFA Youth League is considerably lower than professional football which is why PSG are yet to pen a professional contract with the youngster. However, at 17 years of age, it is the period for making the big move. The big move does not always have to be for their parent club. The youngster could assess his options and find the best fit.

The Gunners are renowned to have produced some top-notch players from their academy in the likes of Wilshere, Ashley Cole and Cesc Fabregas. The youth setup at Arsenal has always been given huge importance. In the 2016-17 season, Wenger provided the grand stage for many of his academy graduates evident in the stat of the youngsters contributing to 19.4 % of the total minutes taken to the pitch by Arsenal. Wenger even stated that the shaping of academy players remained their philosophy for the past 20 years.

There is no doubt that Yacine Adli could shape himself brilliantly at Hale End.

His style of play.

Deployed at centre midfield for a major part of the season, he has done quite well. The Frenchman could also be flanked on the right due to his ability to use both his feet well and some trickery up his sleeve. His range of passing is admirable being able to thread in throw balls whilst also having the aptitude for the long diagonal passes. Standing tall at 186cm, he could be a huge asset in attacking and defending set pieces, but we are yet to see the aerial side of his game.

Although his stats don’t quite reflect his talent, with just 1 goal in his 7 games to go with no assists, he looks a bright player.

The right option for the youngster?

At a tender age, it is of utmost importance to award the youngsters with as much playing time as possible to help nurture and develop them. At Arsenal, it comes in plenty. With Les Parisiens more dependent on the injection of Arab money for their first team stars, a move away would be the more suitable option the Frenchman’s development, more so because of Arsenal’s added interest in their young guns.
