Following a heartbreaking defeat to Juventus in the UEFA Champions League, Tottenham Hotspur will look to gain some confidence as they travel to Dean Court to face Bournemouth this weekend.
Bournemouth are coming into this game on the back of just one win in their last four Premier League matches. Currently sitting 12th, the Cherries run the risk of sliding down to the lower places in the table, should they fail to accumulate enough points in their upcoming matches.
On the other hand, despite boasting an impressive record of being unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League matches, Spurs will be low on confidence, after that disappointing midweek defeat to Juventus. That being said, however, the Lilywhites have registered six wins in their last seven matches against Bournemouth, meaning they will be confident of their chances of overcoming the Cherries this weekend.
Here’s the predicted Spurs lineup to feature against Bournemouth.
Defence
Hugo Lloris will be the man between the sticks for Tottenham this weekend. The Frenchman will look to put up a better performance, against a much inferior opponent in shape of Bournemouth.
We might see some changes in the defensive combination this week, particularly in the fullback positions. Right back Serge Aurier will be introduced in place of Kieran Trippier while Danny Rose could replace Ben Davies on the other flank.
In central defence, Jan Vertonghen will partner up with Davinson Sanchez. The continued absence of Toby Alderweireld, who is still out with an injury, is definitely not helping the Lilywhites.
Midfield
Eric Dier, who was subbed off in the 74th minute, is likely to sit out tomorrow, paving the way for Victor Wanyama to start in midfield against Bournemouth.
The former Southampton midfielder will be partnered alongside Mousa Dembele, whose dynamism and creativity could be useful as they attempt to dominate the opposing midfield.
Attack
Not a lot of changes are expected in the attacking department, apart from Heung-Min Son, who might be replaced by Erik Lamela. The South Korean international did, however, score the only goal for Spurs, in the midweek tie against Juventus.
Lamela will team up with Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli in the attacking position, just in behind their main striker Harry Kane. The English International will be desperate to overtake Mohamed Salah for the top-scorer crown by the end of this weekend.
