Transfer News:
In the past four seasons, I bet that there has not been a single player more responsible for the final standing of Manchester United. It is David de Gea. For the points, you do the math.
Real Madrid are in a turmoil currently, as the Los Blancos have struggled to retain their identity of being the best club in the world by slipping further and further in La Liga. It’s February and they have already given up the La Liga title race.
So, Real Madrid will now probably do the most Real Madrid thing ever and splash the cash in the transfer market. The club has been silent during those busy transfer windows recently, but it could well be the silence that precedes the storm.
And who better to begin with rather than one of their old summer targets, eh?
David de Gea and the art of winning matches single-handedly:
I have no qualms about accepting the fact that David de Gea is the best goalkeeper on the planet.
Since the past few seasons, there have been few better players in the Premier League than the former Atletico Madrid man. The assurance and command that he exudes inside the box are unparalleled.
Real Madrid are known to spend lavishly after the World Cup and they might target David de Gea this summer again. If the good folk over at the Sun is to be believed, then Madrid can go all out in their pursuit.
Jose has his backup ready:
Enter picture, Jordon Pickford.
The lad is Everton’s number 1 choice for the goalkeeper slot. However, he has had a difficult start at Goodison Park as he has constantly been let down by terrible defensive displays from the Toffees.
Pickford has been long touted to be a top goalkeeper in the future. His shot stopping skills are amazing and he is well concentrated throughout the game. Pickford’s strength lies in his athleticism as he keeps making some unbelievable saves on a regular basis.
However, that Everton defence does not do justice to him. Or any goalkeeper in the world, as a matter of fact.
Jose might be interested in bringing Pickford to Manchester United if de Gea departs for Spain. However, the manager and the player have stated their fondness for each other and it is a known fact that the Spaniard loves the club, the city and the legacy that comes while playing for it.
Jordon Pickford’s move to United could be a part of a transfer triangle and we would not know about that unless the World Cup finishes. Until then, the rumours would keep flying by.
