Manchester City did the most Manchester City thing ever and dismantled Leicester City at Etihad with a swashbuckling second-half performance. Sure, the game provided plenty of goals due to a scintillating performance from a certain Argentine who is ageing like wine and he was ably assisted by the majestic Kevin De Bruyne.

Ratings:

Ederson: 7/10

Strong and confident on the ball, came out of the box with assurance and made a routine save here and there.

Kyle Walker: 7/10

Walker made his trademark runs into the other half and was crucial in the build-up for the first goal. His attacking impetus has added a completely new aspect to Manchester City’s game.

Nicolas Otamendi: 6/10

Has been growing in stature this season and should be applauded for bouncing back in the way he did after making a horrible mistake which led to Jamie Vardy’s goal. Good display.

Aymeric Laporte: 7/10

Struggled with Vardy’s movement at times but displayed some good composure with the ball at his feet.

Zinchenko: 8/10

Zinchenko was industrious down the flank as he made his way up and down the wings and also showed that he has a wide passing range.

Fernandinho: 8/10

Broke down attacks, won the ball back, disrupted Leicester midway through the game and made some good attacking forays through the centre.

Kevin de Bruyne: 10/10

Three assists; seems like another day at the office for the Belgian, eh? De Bruyne made some exquisite deliveries into the box and took no time in demonstrating his quality on the ball and his impeccable vision too.

IIkay Gundogan: 7.5/10

Recovered the ball well, regularly made surging runs while also tracking back in time. Worked the ball in and around the penalty box and kept the rhythm going.

Bernardo Silva: 7/10

Was a constant presence on the flank and displayed good intelligence with his decision making inside the box. The former AS Monaco man is a good crosser of the ball and has fit very well into the team after a slow start.

Raheem Sterling: 7/10

Tormented Leicester with his pace and skills by breaking into the box and showcasing good hold up play a couple of times. Finished off an easy chance to score the first goal quite early in the game and laid the foundation for the team.

Sergio Aguero: 10/10

Can’t take anything away from the Argentine for the stupendous performance that he delivered. Four second-half goals and each of them being better than the last one.

Substitutes:

Danilo: 7/10

Good, strong display and should be starting more often.

The other two forwards did not have much time to leave a mark on the game.
