Manchester City Join Race To Sign Argentine Dazzler: Where Will He Fit In Under Pep? 1

Strolling their way to the Premier League title this season, Manchester City stand as one of the most exciting teams in Europe at the moment. Pep Guardiola has the side playing some slick football but is still looking for players, who can make them even harder to beat.

This has seen the club linked with a number of top-class players and one name now added to the list is Argentine superstar Paulo Dybala.

Manchester City Make Dybala Approach:

A transfer target for Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, Dybala is one of the most exciting stars on show in Europe at the moment but has been linked with an exit, from the start of the season. His current club Juventus are under no pressure to sell and are expected knock back bids for him, even in the summer but reports now claim that Pep Guardiola wants to land the 24-year old at any cost.

A story from Spanish news outfit Don Balon claims that Guardiola sees ‘shades of Lionel Messi’ in the Juventus player and has already opened talks with the Italian giants, over a move in the summer. Dybala will have to be willing to move for Juve to even consider selling but is Dybala a man Manchester City need?

Dybala And His Numbers:

A versatile attacker, who loves to play as a support striker, in a free-roaming role in the final third, the Instituto academy product moved to Italy back in 2015 and has already made 84 appearances, picking up 44 goals already.

He has 12 appearances for the Argentine national team and is one of the first names on the team sheet for club and country at the moment. He has been in sensational form this season, playing behind Gonzalo Higuain in a 4-2-3-1 system under Massimiliano Allegri, registering 17 goals and three assists in all competitions this season.

A gifted dribbler with a keen eye for goal, Dybala is a creator in chief, who is devastating when given space in the final third. He has played as a lone striker, but loves to drop into the space in front of the backline, and is adept at making late runs and finding the back of the net with ease.

He has great vision and technique, which allow him to free up space for his side while his hold up play and determination in all the areas of the park makes him a serious talent.

Chances At Manchester City:

Guardiola has used Sergio Aguero (who may quit come summer) as the lead striker for the side and has Gabriel Jesus as the only other option in the first team. There are not too many names that can walk into the current Manchester City squad but Dybala is probably an upgrade and will be the first choice at Etihad if he moves to Manchester.

The system at City does not have room for a support striker but Guardiola might turn him into a CF, which will not only add goals to his game but will make him a more effective player.

At Turin, he is settled well and has been winning trophies consistently. So it will not be easy for Pep to lure him to England but is Dybala the man City need?
