Dicko To Lead The Line: 4-2-3-1 Hull City Predicted Line-up To Face Barnsley

Hull City

In the race for survival in the Championship, Hull City churned out a massive favour for themselves last weekend as they bagged all three points against Sheffield United at the KCOM Stadium. The Tigers have collected 32 points from 33 games but there is still a lot of work to be done.

On Tuesday, Nigel Adkins’ side are due to host Barnsley, who are also fighting to refrain from falling into the clutches of relegation zone at the end of the season. Here is how we expect Adkins to roll out his starting XI against the Tykes.

Team News

Hull City would still be without the services of Moses Odubajo, Marcus Henriksen and Ondrej Mazuch, all of whom are out with long-term injuries.

Goalkeeper

Allan McGregor is expected to start between the sticks once again. The 36-year-old custodian has notched up 8 clean sheets from 33 appearances so far this season, making 2.48 saves per game on an average.

Defence

Angus MacDonald and Michael Dawson are anticipated to be penciled right in the heart of Hull City’s backline. MacDonald and Dawson teed up really well against the Blades and were resilient more often than not and there is no denying that these two deserve to start together once again.

While Max Clark is likely to be handed the responsibilities of a left-back, Ola Aina proved to be a reliable commodity from the right-back slot on Saturday. Aina’s pace and exuberance, couple with sound defensive contributions, were quite exemplary to say the least.

Midfield

In the last league game for Hull City, Sebastian Larsson made a return from his ban and made his way to the starting line-up. He is set to be stationed in the middle of the park yet again alongside Jackson Irvine.

Irvine’s industry coupled with Larsson’s discipline should render stability to Hull City. Evandro is expected to take the big role of operating as a no.10 for the Championship outfit yet again.

Attack

Nouha Dicko found the back of the net against Sheffield United and thus, Adkins is expected to be inclined to use the 25-year-old forward to lead the line. Dicko has scored 4 goals in 26 appearances and would look to add more to his goal tally.

Jarrod Bowen is expected to be given the nod to start from the right-wing slot whereas for the left-wing, Kamil Grosicki is anticipated to be picked ahead of Adama Diamonde in the starting line-up in the upcoming fixture.
