Ramsey And Mkhitaryan Make Merry: Arsenal Players Rated In Their 5-1 Win Over Everton

ramsey

After a humbling defeat at the hands of Swansea City, Arsenal hosted Everton at the Emirates Stadium today and they hammered the Toffees in a staggering manner. The Gunners banged five goals past Jordan Pickford, with Aaron Ramsey scoring three and Laurent Koscielny and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring one each.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal was barely a consolation for Sam Allardyce’s troops and here is how we rated Arsene Wenger’s men from their scrumptious win over Everton.

Petr Cech 6/10

Cech isn’t getting better with age any longer and Arsenal probably need to look for his replacement in the summer. The custodian was beaten by Calvert-Lewin and was subbed off after getting injured in the second-half.

Hector Bellerin 8/10

The Spaniard had an excellent day in the office as he constantly galloped down the right causing problems for Everton’s defence and linked up superbly with Mkhitaryan throughout the game.

Laurent Koscielny 7/10

The centre-back struggled at times to deal with the pace of Theo Walcott but it was a solid display by him and he also bagged a goal for his club.

Shkodran Mustafi 6/10

Arguably the weak link in Arsenal’s backline, Mustafi made some good blocks but didn’t appear to be quite comfortable in dealing with the attacking endeavours of the Blues.

Nacho Monreal 6/10

Monreal looked decent and was unlucky not to find the back of the net in the first-half. However, he struggled towards the end of the first-half and was eventually replaced after the break.

Granit Xhaka 7/10

The midfielder impressed substantially owing to his improvement, although he needs to do a lot more to keep his place in the starting line-up.

Aaron Ramsey 9/10

Ramsey was flawless and exuberant and the fact that he popped up in the right areas enabled him to bag a hat-trick. His surging runs and exquisite movements really helped his side to snatch the game away from the visiting side, particularly in the first-half.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 9/10

Arsenal’s philosophy of attacking football already seems to be suiting him and the Armenian international mustered three assists to his name. He showcased immense work-ethic and could be a very useful player for his side in the coming years.

Mesut Ozil 8/10

The German knit the side together and ran the show in the final third. He was instrumental in injecting the attacking mentality into the side.

Alex Iwobi 7/10

Iwobi appeared to threaten Everton’s defence more often than not down the left flank and it was certainly an encouraging and morale-lifting outing for him.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 7/10

It was a good debut for the Gabon international who scored a goal and injected pace and created space for his teammates in the final third.

Substitutions:

Sead Kolasinac 5/10

He replaced Monreal at half-time but he flattered to deceive owing to his lack of confidence when he was on the ball.

David Ospina 6/10

The Columbian replaced Cech after the former Chelsea shot-stopper injured himself but he hardly had to do anything.

Jack Wilshere 5/10

Wilshere replaced Ramsey in the second-half but couldn’t really get himself involved in the game.
