Afobe To Lead The Line? Predicted 3-4-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers Lineup vs QPR

Wolverhampton Wanderers strengthened their grip on the top spot of the Championship table as they clinched a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United last weekend at the Molineux Stadium. The Wolves have 68 points to their name after 30 league games and have a handsome lead of 11 points over second-placed Derby County.

Unarguably, Wolves are the favourites to clinch the Championship silverware and earn promotion to the Premier League. On Saturday, they are due to host Queens Park Rangers and Espirito Santo’s men would be looking forward to keeping their supremacy intact. Here is how we expect Wolves to line-up against Ian Holloway’s troops.

Goalkeeper

John Ruddy should don the gloves once again in the league fixture. The 31-year-old shot-stopper’s form has been one of the major reasons why Wolves have leaked very few goals and he would be looking to bag his 18th clean sheet of the ongoing season.

Defence

Ahead of Ruddy, we expect to see a three-man defensive wall comprising of Ryan Bennett, Conor Coady and Willy Boly. Coady is likely to be used centrally, with Bennett to his right and Boly to his left. These three have been rock solid at the back, more often than not and it is unlikely that Espirito Santo will be tinkering with any of them.

Wingbacks

The right-wingback slot is anticipated to be handed to Matt Doherty. Doherty has shown immense grit, exuberance and productivity and the fans have been mightily pleased in the manner he has plied his trade.

Barry Douglas has been impressive till now and he has balanced his offensive and defensive duties well. He should start as the left-wingback.

Midfield

Ruben Neves and Alfred N’Diaye are expected to start from central midfield. Together, Neves and N’Diaye dazzled against Sheffield United last weekend and their partnership seems to be really promising.

Attack

Right up front, Benik Afobe is likely to be given the nod to lead Espirito Santo’s attacking setup. Afobe was signed by Wolves from Bournemouth on loan last month and he is more than a capable striker who would be able to offer his sharp attacking tooth to his side.

While Helder Costa is expected to start from the right wing, Ivan Cavaleiro will ply his trade on the left wing and the two attackers will look to support Afobe.
