Arsenal set to move in for Brazilian star: Just the player Wenger needs? 1

Transfer speculation

Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United is looking imminent, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving to Arsenal in a straight swap, as per one of the latest reports by the Express. Arsene Wenger is also in pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the former St. Etienne man will cost more than £50m if reports are to be believed.

The race for finishing inside the top-four spots is getting tougher every week and the North London outfit are one of the clubs in contention to bag a Champions League berth. With the second-half of the season expected to throw more challenges, the Gunners do need to strengthen their side by bringing quality players to their ranks. As per the Daily Star, Arsenal have put Lucas Moura on their radar.

Lucas Moura – Fact file

Moura was developed by the youth setup of Juventus-SP, Corinthians and Sao Paolo and was eventually elevated to the senior side of Sao Paulo, where he rose to prominence. His rise to urged PSG to beat competition from the likes of Manchester United and spend a fortune on him — €40 million — way back in 2013.

Attributes

Moura is an attacking midfielder who is capable of working effectively from either wing as well as the central attacking midfield region. His best abilities are undoubtedly his dribbling and ability to put in a cross. He’s a Brazilian, so you’d expect him to take on defenders and beat them with skill, wouldn’t you?

Against teams who play an open game, Moura could be a real handful as he can stretch defences with his blistering pace.

Owing to the availability of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Moura’s stature at the French capital has significantly reduced and he is yet to be handed a start in the league.

A good move?

Arsenal wmuld wholeheartedly welcome the 25-year-old, for he would be one of the ‘big-name signing’ that the fans are craving for right now. Moura, on the other hand, is likely to be up for the challenge considering the World Cup is on the horizon. He needs to move and make a statement on the pitch if he wants to make the plane to Brazil.

Arsenal recently sold Theo Walcott and he needs to be replaced. Moura is still only 25 and could realise his potential at North London.
