Like Coutinho, Sturridge also joined the club in the same transfer window. Back in 2013, when he was still a Chelsea player, Sturridge was already known as one of the best finishers in the league and he cost £12m when he moved to Anfield early in the January transfer window.
He went on to give the Reds some fine moments on and off the pitch and has only quit the club this month, moving to West Brom on loan.
He is 28 and is a still a big asset in the English top tier and was certainly a memorable buy for Liverpool in the January transfer window.
But the best transfer that Liverpool have made in January has to be the acquisition of Uruguayan superstar Luis Suarez.
Having joined the club in the winter transfer window in the 2010-11 season, Suarez moved to Anfield on deadline day, along with Andy Carroll, for £22m and turned into one of the best players for the Reds since the turn of the decade.
He came close to winning Liverpool the league title but quit the club the next summer, moving to Barcelona. He is still regarded as one of the best strikers in world football at the moment and was an absolute steal for the Reds.
