Transfer Story
The transfer speculation regarding the future of relegated Hull City defender Harry Maguire seems to be finally coming to a close as according to reports, Leicester City have agreed on a £17m move for the excellent centre-back.
The 24-year-old has been one of the few silver linings in Hull City’s otherwise lacklustre campaign. His strong vocal and physical defensive techniques have earned him accolades from both fans and experts alike and has garnered interest from several Premier League clubs. Nonetheless, the Foxes seem to be closer than ever in signing the ex- Sheffield player.
The Tigers are facing a torrid time ahead as the Premier League relegation and the subsequent departure of Marco Silva has stirred many players into contemplating about their future at the club.
And now Harry seems to have started the possible procession.
Let’s take a look at the stats of the player and evaluate on the skills that he could provide the Foxes.
Player Stats
The player has made 31 first team starts in his total of 36 appearances for the Tigers which goes to show the consistency and fitness of the defender stating him as a permanent figure in the Hull squad.
The English International has scored 3 goals and 3 assists in all competitions for his club this past season, something usually unseen from Centre Halves and it goes to show that the player has the requisite vision and creativity to score and create chances up front, especially from set-pieces.
The Hull centre-back has also maintained a healthy pass success rate of 76% and has provided a total of 11 key passes in the PL for his team.
Also with a tackle success rate of 72% and 63 interceptions in the League, he has been a solid figure for the Tigers at the back.

What’ll he offer the Club?
Foxes had conceded an astounding 63 goals in the last season and had struggled to plug the defensive frailties at the back which saw their title defence campaign finish in the 12th spot. Certainly having Maguire at the back would boost their defence line providing them with the added amount of calmness and composure that they had been missing all throughout the season.
Needless to say, at 24 years of age the player would exude the right amount of exuberance and vigour that is much needed to revitalise their backline at the moment and also at such a tender age he could be a long-time prospect for the club.
Worth the Money?
Seeing and evaluating the youngster’s talent, it is pretty well established that the centre back is a no-nonsense defender and is always up to the task whenever called for in the team.
Safe to say the King Power Stadium would be more than delighted to have this prospect at their club before the start of next season.
