With Son already proving good in front of goal and gradually adjusting to Pochettino’s style of play, there is hardly anything extraordinary that the player might add to the squad. Also being injury prone, the investment on the player does make him a liability and a risk.
The player might add numbers to the squad but regarding quality, there is high doubt since the Scottish Premiership is a very different league altogether when compared to Premier League, which is more demanding and requires high endurance.

The Frenchman is yet to establish himself on the global platform on a consistent basis and making a huge investment in the range of £30m might not be the smartest move with the player likely to see major bench time next season as Kane and Son are undoubtedly ahead in the pecking order.
This is one of those transfers that could happen just to bolster the depth of the squad but the jury is still out whether this will be the ideal piece of business either from the club’s or the player’s point of view.
