4-2-3-1 Arsenal Line-Up Vs West Ham United: Wenger To Make A Key Change At The Back?

4-2-3-1 Arsenal Line-Up Vs West Ham United: Wenger To Make A Key Change At The Back? 1

Arsenal face a nervy end to the season as along with the stuttering form of the team, their supporters are still in doubts over the manager’s future which has caused the atmosphere at the Emirates to turn toxic. Their opponents, West Ham United, are also experiencing a dip in form which has caused trouble for manager Slaven Bilic. However, they must be confident by the fact that Arsenal were beaten handsomely in this fixture last season.

The Gunners have suffered two more injuries to their crucial first team players with both Petr Cech and Laurent Koscielny out of contention to start tomorrow. Arsenal are currently sixth in the league and need a win desperately to stay in the reckoning for the top four spots. On that note, here is the predicted Arsenal lineup for their tricky home game against West Ham United.

Goalkeeper

David Ospina will retain his place in the starting lineup ahead of Emiliano Martinez. The Colombian has been decent when he has been called upon and will look to keep out the likes of Andy Carroll.

Defence

An injury to Laurent Koscielny means Gabriel will start in a central role besides Shkodran Mustafi who scored a brilliant goal against Manchester City on the weekend. Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin will take up the role of the fullbacks though the duo have been far from convincing in the recent games. But due to a lack of better options on the bench, they will continue to start in the playing eleven.

Midfield

Arsenal’s midfield has seriously underperformed this season with the likes of Aaron Ramsey failing to impress at the desired level while Santi Cazorla suffering a season-long injury. This means the duo of Granit Xhaka and Francis Coquelin will start in midfield with Mohammed Elneny available on the bench.

Mesut Ozil has not been able to perform at his best in the big matches but the fans will be hoping that the German will get back to form against the Hammers. Alexis Sanchez has been Arsenal’s best player this season and is Wenger’s best hope for a result against West Ham. Theo Walcott will look to continue his goalscoring spree when he starts from the right wing tomorrow.

Attack

Danny Welbeck played well against City and will look to run in behind a leaky West Ham defence. The duo of Olivier Giroud and Lucas Perez will have to be satisfied with a place on the bench.

Cindy Whitehead, to allow for those treatments to enter the market more.
