Hull City are in deep, deep trouble right now. With the Premier League set to start in three weeks’ time, Hull City are without a manager following the shock departure of Steve Bruce who blamed the owners’ lack of ambition to back him in the transfer market for his decision to part ways with the Tigers. After sealing their promotion to the Premier League winning the Championship playoffs, Hull City should have been preparing for a strong comeback season in the top tier but what happened in reality will definitely raising the eyebrows of the fans.
Hull City’s priority now should be naming the replacement of Bruce really soon so that the next manager gets enough room and time to add quality and depth to the side before the season starts. If Bruce’s complaints about the owners are true, the next Hull manager might have to settle for a tight transfer kitty whereas it is as clear as broad daylight that Hull City lack the squad to keep their Premier League status intact.
In this article, we will be pointing out three out of favour players Hull City could look for who can add a lot to the team and won’t command too much fee as well.
Jordan Mutch
Hull City’s midfield look quite strong with players like Huddlestone, Livermore, Diame and Meyler. However, they need more options in the middle of the park next season to avoid the risk of their squad getting stretched with injuries during the long season. 24-year-old Jordan Mutch failed to make the headline at Selhurst Park since his move from QPR and would be a quality addition to Hull City where he can bring his stagnant career back to life.
James Chester
The former Hull City hero left the Tigers last summer following their relegation and joined Premier League side West Bromwich Albion. The 27-year-old failed to make it big at the Hawthorns and struggled for gametime under Pulis. He is not the tallest and strongest of defenders but his composure on the ball is top-notch. Still admired at the KC Stadium, a return of the Welshman at Hull could be on the cards this summer. With Alex Bruce out for a long-term, Hull needs defensive reinforcements and Chester would be a solid addition to the team.
Victor Moses
We have to applaud the Nigerian international for his determination to break into the first-team of Chelsea someday. After three below-par loan spells (he started brightly, though) away from the Stamford Bridge to Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham respectively, it is laughable to see the 25-year-old still hoping for his chance to shine for the Blues. Moses badly needs a fresh start in his career, a permanent move away from Chelsea. Hull City could definitely look for a quality player like the Nigerian.
