Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool lineup vs AS Roma: Will Klopp make any changes?

After yet another draw in the Premier League, which will take the race to top-4 till the last couple of weeks, Liverpool are back in action this week when they travel to Stadio Olimpico for the 2nd leg of the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The Reds have a 5-2 lead, thanks to goals from each of their fabulous front three but the two goals Roma scored late in the game will give the Italian giants some confidence going into this tie.

Roma, who scored four against Chievo at the weekend, need a repeat of their quarter-final performance against Barcelona. A 3-0 scoreline will be enough for them to go through and the fact that they are yet to concede a home goal in the competition will make the visitors nervous.

Liverpool, however, are yet to be beaten in Europe and have scored record numbers of goal this season and will be confident ahead of this game. Here is the predicted lineup Klopp might field for this crunch tie:

Team News

In early team news, Liverpool will be without first-team stars Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both of who are ruled out for the rest of the season. Adam Lallana is back in training and should be fit enough to make the bench while Emre Can won’t be featuring.

Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson all picked up knocks in the 0-0 draw against the Potters at the weekend but are expected to fit for this trip to Italy. Sadio Mane missed that game but is also travelling with The Reds.

Expected lineup (4-3-3)

Defence

Loris Karius had a nervous night against Roma at Anfield and will look to put in a more confident performance in Italy. With Matip out injured, Dejan Lovren and Virgil van Dijk will retain their places at the heart of the defence for this game.

Trent Alexander-Arnold played in the midfield against Stoke but should be pushed to right-back while Andrew Robertson, who was rested for the weekend, should be back at left-back.

Midfield

Skipper Jordan Henderson limped off at the end of the Stoke City game but is expected to be fit and should start in the no.10 role. Lack of options will see Klopp stick with Georginio Wijnaldum, who needs to step up in an away game and James Milner, who saw very little action at the weekend.

Attack

Both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were frustrated by Paul Lambert’s men. Both players will look to get back on the score sheet in Rome. Sadio Mane is back from a thigh injury and will complete Liverpool’s attack.
