Celtic Player Ratings From Their Draw Vs Motherwell: Rogic Shines, Boyata Flops

Motherwell hosted Celtic at the Fir Park earlier today and the away side flattered to deceive as the game ended in a goalless draw. Although both the sides came close to scoring, neither managed to show the much-needed composure in front of goal.

However, the Hoops will be even more frustrated with the result as they couldn’t get past the 10 men of Motherwell after Cedric Kipre was shown the red card in the first. Here are our Celtic player ratings after their disappointing draw against earlier today.

Scott Bain 7/10

The custodian was chosen over Dorus de Vries and he managed to excel yet again. He made some really good saves.

Jack Hendry 7/10

Hendry might have struggled on a few occasions after his move to the Celtic Park in January but was quite resilient at the back.

Dedryck Boyata 4/10

Boyata’s inclusion in the starting line-up was questionable after his horrendous showing against Rangers and he did nothing to prove his doubters wrong. He looked really nervy on the pitch and was the weak link at the back.

Kristoffer Ajer 7/10

Another great outing for the young defender. Ajer was rock-solid at the back and read the offensive movement of the opposition pretty well.

James Forrest 5/10

It was a forgettable outing for Forrest as he failed to make an impact defensively as well as offensively. A lot was expected from him but he flattered to deceive.

Scott Brown 6/10

The central midfielder involved himself in the scheme of things yet again and dictated the tempo of the game more often than not.

Olivier Ntcham 6/10

Just like Brown, Ntcham was busy during his time on the pitch but lacked the needed quality.

Callum McGregor 7/10

McGregor played in the unfamiliar left-wingback role and produced an okay performance. He galloped forward time and again and delivered some decent crosses.

Tom Rogic 8/10

The Australian international was arguably the best player on the pitch for the Bhoys. He was lively in the final third, created a few goal scoring opportunities for his teammates and was unlucky to not find the back of the net on plenty of occasions.

Odsonne Edouard 5/10

The Frenchman had a stuttering display up front as he failed to be clinical or industrious and was rightfully substituted in the second half.

Moussa Dembele 6/10

Dembele, who was deployed alongside Edouard, might have been better than the latter but he didn’t really impress the way he should have. He showcased willingness but lacked the end product.

Substitutions

Scott Sinclair 4/10

Sinclair came on for Edouard in the second half but he continued to appear as a shadow of his former self. He found it hard to get going and lacked confidence.

Scott Armstrong 5/10

Armstrong needs more game time under his belt as needs to get his composure back. Will get better with time.

Patrick Roberts 7/10

He replaced Forrest and offered his attacking prowess to a significant extent, particularly in the last 10 minutes of the fixture.
